Among the winter fruit, the apple is for sure the tastiest. On the top, thanks to the endless varieties present in nature, it can satisfy all tastes. The apple, besides being tasty, it contains properties that help us with daily well-being.
It is a fruit that owns very little calories (40kcal for 100g) and few sugars, it doesn’t contain fats nor proteins, but a huge quantity of vitamins and mineral salts. Vitamins of B group help us fighting tiredness, lack of appetite, strengthen the hair and the nails.
Malic and citric acid help the digestion, so it is helpful to eat an apple at the end of the meal, even if It is said that fruit must be eaten away from meals. Moreover, apple contains oxalic acid that whiten the teeth.
For diabetics, apples are excellent as they contain fructose, a sugar absorbed without the action of insulin. It contains a big quantity of fibres among which pectin that helps maintaining glycemia under control. This fruit is rich in vitamin C that, as we all know, in winter time is always useful against flu and colds helping also the well-being of respiratory tracts, an excellent alternative to orange juice.
However, the benefits of apple do not end here, in fact it also helps fighting the cholesterol and free radicals. The latter are the cause of cellular aging that all of us try to stop often using non-natural methods, when instead a diet rich in apples would be enough.
Moreover, thanks to presence of glutathione peroxidase, the apple stimulates the functionality of its own antioxidant elements, by creating a peculiar beneficial synergy between all components of the fruit itself.

Naturally, to lower the cholesterol in a natural way through using the apples, it will be necessary to take advantage of benefits of the apple by eating it entire: according to a research recently completed, the beneficial results cannot be granted at the same level from apple juices or from antioxidant products in the form of tablets.
