Fried green tomatoes

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g green tomatoes
  • Frying oil
  • 125ml milk
  • 150g corn wholemeal flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 eggs
  • 150g flour

PREPARATION

Accurately rinse the tomatoes, dry them and cut them in half cm thick washers.
Pour the milk, the normal flour, the wholemeal corn flour and whipped eggs in separate bowl and dip every tomato slice before in the milk and then in the normal flour
Dip the tomato slices before in whipped eggs and then in corn wholemeal flour.
Pour frying oil in a pan at medium-high flame and fry the tomatoes on one side.
When the bottom side of the green tomatoes will be gold, flip them and continue frying the other side until it is equally gold.
Drain the tomatoes on a kitchen paper to remove the exceeding oil.
Serve hot and sprinkle some salt and pepper.
